Iron Chef to End in March/アイアンシェフ、3月で打ち切り

I have learned today from here (Japanese only) that the TV show, Iron Chef, has been decided to end in March because of its low viewer ratings.
The 6-hour special program aired on New Year's Eve attracted a rating of only around 4%, and the Jan. 18 edition had a rating of 6.2%.
今日、ここから、テレビ番組「アイアンシェフ」が3月に打ち切りになると知りました。視聴率が低いためです。
大晦日に放映された6時間の特番はわずか4%前後の視聴率、1/18の番組の視聴率は6.2%だったそうです。

Kiki: I was also sad to hear the news. I think that the main reason for its low ratings is that the TV show starts around 8:00, when most professional chefs are working, in contrast to the original series, which started at 11:00.

Why didn't they just move it to a later time slot? :(

YSC: That's a good question. The original Iron Chef (Ryori no Tetsujin in Japanese) attracted an astonishing rating of 20% or greater.

You never know what top management will think and do!
